Stunning Restored Land Rover Up For Sale

Early Defenders are not exactly the easiest or most comfortable cars to drive around but they are universally loved with companies all around the world offer various restomodding solutions in order to make them more modern and more safe.

We have already seen crazy Defenders using Corvette engines or even being stretched with an extra axle but sometimes keeping it simple and close to the character of the original feels cooler.

This particular 1967 example is a green Land Rover 109 Series IIA and has been carefully restored and modified by the well-known Himalaya4x4 in conjunction with Peerless Overland, using the axles, brakes and the powertrain from a later Discovery model. The modern hardware has been integrated almost seamlessly without messing with the classic looks of the car and the only thing that’s not original on the outside is the later Defender mirrors.

Under the bonnet there is a brand-new 4.0-litre fuel-injected Land Rover V8 mated to a rebuilt automatic gearbox. According to the seller, the interior is now more quiet and comfortable thanks to extensive Dynamat insulation and some heat shielding on the floor and the transmission tunnel. The attention to detail is simply beautiful and everything looks clean and stock, apart from the gear selector which is housed in a new centre console.

The car is up for grabs on eBay over here, with the reserve not met yet so if you want a really nice early Land Rover you better hurry.
