A Mercedes Unimog, and a few friends tackle the extreme class 4 off road trails in Vermont. A rocky uphill stream bed tests the articulation, & clearance of the mighty Unimog 416 Doka. This weekend of trail running took place at the Vermont Overland.

This is Michael's 1979 DOKA Mercedes Unimog in Kubota Orange. I'm telling you, these are the coolest overland vehicles you'll find and they can go practically anywhere. This is the Drive the Globe Unimog owned by Michael Ladden and he was gracious enough to spend a lot of time showing us around this friggin fantastic rig.

She can drive a Mercedes Unimog. We are frequently asked if driving the Unimog is difficult. Carrie shows us that driving the Mog is as easy as 1, 2, 3, 6? Gears that is. Power steering, air assisted brakes & coil sprung suspension add to the trucks comfort.

The Mercedes Unimog is known to be extremely versatile. We swap out rear bodies quickly and demonstrate how they mount to the 3 point X-frame that allows for the vehicles extreme flex & articulation off road. Unimog is an acronym for the German "UNIversal-MOtor-Gerät", Gerät being the German word for device (also in the sense of machine, instrument, gear, apparatus).
